Located in Cochrane, just minutes west of Calgary,
the Links at GlenEagles has been carved into the rugged
hillsides overlooking the Bow River Valley. Described
as a ridgeline golf course, the views across the foothills
to the Rocky Mountains are unparalleled for breathtaking
beauty. The lower holes run along the top of a cliff
some 200 feet above the valley floor.
Playing at over 7,000 yards with a slope rating of
139, the course offers five sets of tees to accommodate
all skill levels. Unique in that there are five Par
3’s and five Par 5’s, every type of golf
shot is required in this challenging but fair test
of golf. The signature hole, the Par 3 16th, plays
from a demanding 250 yards from the Black Tees. The
130 foot elevation drop makes for a spectacular tee
shot to a large but well bunkered green sitting on
the precipice of the valley below. This hole was awarded
a Silver Medal by Score Magazine for Par 3’s
in Canada.
The ridge holes, terraced into the hillside, are
framed with native and fescue grasses, as well as
wild flower mixes and provide close up views of the
Bow River and Bow Valley Corridor.
In 2004, the Links at GlenEagles hosted a Nationwide
Tour event and was voted one of the best new courses
in Canada in 1999.
