The Predator Ridge layout has capitalized on the
picturesque views from the rolling hills south of
Vernon, B.C. between Okanagan Lake and Kalamalka Lake.
The 27 hole facility makes excellent use of a wide
range of topographical features. Each nine holes offer
a unique design style. The bold Red Tail nine meanders
through the open hills and valleys. The prominence
of the peripheral mounding created an extra sense
of seclusion. The Peregrine nine winds through the
upper forested terrain. The narrow fairways and elevation
swings provide added challenge. The Osprey nine is
a harmonious mix of both. Numerous ponds and wetlands
were created, providing a theme of conservationalism
throughout the property.
The contrasting colours of the surrounding native
vegetation were accentuated with the incorporation
of Bentgrass fairways and fescue covered pinnacle
mounding in all non-maintained areas.
Predator Ridge proudly consistently ranks as one
of the top golf courses in Canada and has hosted numerous
competitions of note. Included have been the 1993
BC Open, the 1998 BC Amateur, the 2006 BCPGA Tournament
of Champions and the 2006 Canadian PGA Assistant’s
Championship. In addition, it hosted the Canadian
Skins Game in 2000, featuring Sergio Garcia, Mike
Weir, Fred Couples and Phil Mickelson.
